I purchased this product for our dachshund, and with the thought of using it on our tabby cats. It works well on the cats, when we can get them to stand still long enough. Since our dog is short-haired, I didn't expect to remove much from her, but what we did remove was even less than anticipated. I would imagine the Furminator would work well on long-haired dogs, as it does work well on the cats.
