I have tried gels and other variations of Styptic. I have come back to the use of the old-fashioned powder form. The gels tend to fall-off of the nail and do not seem to stop the bleeding all that well. With this powder, the bleeding stops immediately. Just put a bit of the powder in the cap, or upon a piece of newspaper under the dogs paw, dip the nail into the powder, and Voila!, the bleeding stops. The powder thoroughly coats all cracks and crevices of the nail surface, adheres well, and stops the bleeding. I heartily recommend this styptic powder over other forms of styptic.
