Oster Gentle Paws Cordless Nail Trimmer for Dogs and Cats, Silver Best Quality

Bought this unit for trimming my Havanese dog nails. Havanese are a toy dog so their nails are not that big. Unit works OK and has nice features, but is very underpowered.

Pros: safety shield, cordless, easy to use, less likely to cut too far back, not very loud and doesn't scare them when running, 2 speeds, several different selectable nail size wholes to fit various sized pets.

Cons: not enough power, takes too long to grind down nails (even on small dogs), safety shield doesn't rotate directions (would be nice to rotate the shield and not the tool in your hand to find the correct fitting hole size

Overall: so far this is the best cordless nail trimmer and I have tried several popular brands now. Still, it is not powerful enough to really get the job done in a timely manner. I must cut longer nails with old fashioned scissor type nail trimmers and then use this unit to grind back. The unit is much easier on their nails and does reduce the chances of catching the nerve when trimming. I would love to see Oster come out with their corded trimmer but add the safety shield so I have enough power to get the job done in a timely manner and avoid the waste of disposable batteries being used (not sure why no one has done this yet). Out of all the units I have purchased this is the only powered one that I might purchase again but it really needs power improvements because the tiny nails on my pets easily stop the motor.Get more detail about Oster Gentle Paws Cordless Nail Trimmer for Dogs and Cats, Silver.
