These are good blades. They fit right on the Oster A5 golden clipper I bought (securely). The one that came with it, I think it's a 10 shaves the dog down to the skin. This one leaves about a 1/2 inch coat. I use the 3F to cut him all over than I use the 10 on his belly and anywhere else I want him cut close.......his feet, snout, ears, etc. These blades stay cool to the touch. The clippers have to get very hot for these to even start getting warm. I bought this to cut the thick hair of my Pompom. Works perfect going through the thick coat. It is a tad shorter than I wanted ( my Pompom loves it though ) but that is my fault. The only drawback that I can tell is that if the hair is longer than say 2" one might need to "trim down" the dogs coat before using this blade as it did not want to go through 4" hair for any reason. Again, though since I am not a professional, it may be just my learning curve. Blade temperature did not seem to hot to me or to my beloved pet. These blades are very precise and works extremely well. I purchased universal attachments prior to using the dedicated length blades. It is like night and day. The dedicated blade only requires a couple of runs to have a clean cut, but meanwhile the universal attachments need 4-5 runs to get a nice clean cut.
